Constance Menard Wanberg

July 02, 1931 - April 25, 2017

Constance Menard Wanberg, age 85, of Naperville, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Silverado Memory Care of Naperville. She was born July 2, 1931 in Sioux City, IA to Grace and Joel Menard. She was raised on the family farm in nearby Sergeant Bluff and her family’s experience during the Great Depression made her a hard working and generous individual.  Upon her graduation from the University of Iowa, she began her teaching career in Orchard, NE and the following year taught in Schaller, Iowa where she met her future husband, Forrest “Junior” Wanberg. They wed on June 2, 1956 and shared nearly 61 years together blessed by the richness of close family and lifelong friends.

Daughter Laurie was born in 1958 while they lived in Schaller and son Dana was born in 1964 when they lived in Goshen IN. The family moved to Naperville in 1965.  Constance is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, Kate Corman and Will (Brenda) Corman and great granddaughter Maria Joy Corman. She is the beloved sister of David (Shirley) Menard and Beth Hickey as well the aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Artel Menard and Owen Menard.

Constance was a 51-year member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a devoted volunteer to the church’s prayer network for nearly three decades. 



Funeral Information

Visitation is Sunday, April 30 from 3:00-6:00  PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

The Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, May 1st at 11:00 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
