Virginia F. Taglia

April 09, 1931 - July 14, 2017

Virginia F. Taglia (née Jensen), a ten year resident of Villa St. Benedict in Lisle, IL, formerly of Burr Ridge and sixty-five years of Oak Park, IL, entered eternal life on Friday, July 14th, 2017 at the age of 86.  She was born April 9, 1931 in Oak Park, IL.

Beloved wife of the late Victor R. Taglia, whom she married October 13, 1956 and who preceded her in death May 17, 2005, loving mother of Regina (Dan) Howe, V. Thomas (Jackie) Taglia and James (Anneke) Taglia, devoted grandmother of Victoria and Annika Helle, Victor “Duke” and Anthony Taglia, and Vincent, Virginia, Jean, Elyse and Dominic Taglia, and Oliver and Eliot Howe; daughter of the late Harold and Emma (nee Steiner) Jensen), dear sister of the late Robert (Joan) Jensen, and the late Donald (Mary) Jensen, sister-in-law of Florence (the late Buddy) Romano, fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many, cousin of many, including Patricia Ulman. 

Virginia grew up in Oak Park, attended St Giles Grade School, Trinity High School in River Forest, IL and was a graduate of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN with a degree in occupational therapy. She was employed as an occupational therapist at Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital, Hines, IL before starting her family. Virginia was a former member of St. Giles, and later, Trinity Catholic Church in Westmont. She was an avid volunteer, loved animals and enjoyed spending time near the water in Michiana Shores, MI and in Florida.

Funeral Information

Visitation Tuesday, July 18, 2017, 10:00-11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Monastery Chapel at Villa St. Benedict, 1920 Maple Ave., Lisle.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Monastery Chapel.  

Family and friends will meet Tuesday, 2:30 PM at Christ the King Mausoleum in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL for committal services.
