Martha M. Rovtar (nee Martin), age 94, a Naperville, IL resident 1954-1980; 2001-2017, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Naperville. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of the late Malcolm G. Rovtar, whom she married June 28, 1941 and who preceded her in death on October 20, 2005, loving mother of Nancy (Anthony) Pakosta of Coppell, TX, Linda (Ted) Weissenborn of Naperville and Thomas (Anne McDermott) Rovtar of Oswego, IL, adored grandmother of Carrie Pakosta, Erin (Ken) Weissenborn Lill, Timothy Weissenborn, Matthew Weissenborn, Alana (Steve) Behnken and Brie (Sam) Russell, cherished great-grandmother of Fionn, Neav and Nori Russell; Cooper and Lola Weissenborn; John and Aly Behnken, devoted daughter of the late Walter and Anna Martin, dear sister of the late Ann (the late John) Musser, the late Walter (the late Virginia) Martin and the late Bruno Martin, sister-in-law of Lorraine (the late Jim) Hatak, Marion (the late Jim) Holec, Dolores (the late Jim) Morrow and the late Frank (the late Barbara) Rovtar, fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Martha grew up on Chicago’s Far South Side and attended Parker High School. A homemaker, Martha was a resident of Naperville from 1954-1980 and retired to Florida and Galena, IL with her husband, Malcolm, before returning to Naperville in 2001. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and enjoyed traveling. In her younger days, Martha was very athletic and enjoyed skiing, playing tennis and softball, roller skating and bowling. Martha was a talented painter and loved entertaining and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, 9:00-10:30 AM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Interment to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
