Ronald J. "R.J." Sullivan DDS

March 25, 1942 - June 20, 2017

Ronald J. "R.J." Sullivan, DDS, age 75, a resident of Woodridge, IL since 1970, passed away June 20, 2017 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. He was born on March 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL.

Ronald is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann; his loving children, Kevin (Celeste Locke) Sullivan, Colleen Sullivan and Daniel Sullivan; his cherished grandchildren, Brianne and Connor; his dear sister, Maureen (the late Honorable Paul) Sheridan and brother-in-law, J. Patrick (the late Sherry) Healy; as well as his nieces and nephews, Paul (Diann), Luke (Erin) and John (Cathleen) Sheridan, Margaret (Tim Powers), Michael (Jennifer) and Brian Healy. R.J. was raised in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood and was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Loras College and Loyola Dental School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during Vietnam and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. He opened the very first dental practice in Woodridge and enjoyed a life-long career serving the community. R.J.'s sense of humor was legendary and it came naturally for him to bring levity to any situation. He was incredibly clever, tremendously creative, as well as a terrific cook. Along with his wife Mary Ann, he also instilled in his children an appreciation of the arts. R.J. lived believing in the importance of both quantity and quality of time spent with those he loved and it is that beloved trait for which he will be missed most.
