Lawrence Edward March

Lawrence Edward March, age 88, a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, IL before moving to Naperville, IL, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017 at his Naperville home surrounded by his loving wife, children and two of his grandchildren. He was born on December 14, 1928 in Garfield, NJ.

Lawrence is the beloved husband of 60 years of Helen March nee Balaun. Loving father of Catherine March, Steve March, Carol (Charlie) Hale, Chris (Ray) McCurdy, James (Ooy) March, Louise (Teddy Von) March, Patty March, and Tracy (Tom) Thurston. Cherished grandfather of Ian, Katie, Will, Ivan, Hans, Daryl, Dan, Jasmine, Jeffy, Jessica, Lithai, Madeline, Linnea, Emma, Lily, and Evelyn. Dear son of the late Paula Schnabel.

Lawrence was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of Kent State in 1952, where he was successful in varsity track and field, before marrying the love of his life, Helen, in 1957. He went on to work for Marsteller, Inc. for 30 years where he was the VP media director. While living in Arlington Heights, he was a longtime member of St. Edna Catholic Church. Lawrence loved the outdoors, especially hiking, gardening, the dunes, and the shore. He was also an avid reader, a champion puzzle maker, a history and geography buff, but the majority of his dedication belonged to his family and his faith.

Funeral Information

Family and friends to gather Thursday, June 8, 2017 for 5:00 visitation until 9:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Service 44 S. Mill St. Naperville, IL 60540. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, 10:30 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville, IL 60540. Interment will be private.
