Werner Weigt, age 87 of Plainfield, IL at rest Feb.18, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. Born Dec. 3, 1925 in Kiel, Germany, son of the late William and Hanna Peterson. Beloved husband of the late Anna.

Loving father of William (Beth) Weigt of Channahon, IL, Robert (Kathleen) Weigt of Hobe Sound, FL, Dianne (Jim) Hincks of Plainfield, IL and Linda Bailey of Hammondsport, NY. Cherished grandfather of William (Amber) Weigt, David (Rainy) Weigt, Robert (Janel) Weigt, Kari Buntz, Ryan (Wendy) Weigt, Shawn Weigt, Cody Weigt, Sherry McLemore, Kim (Vinny) Mendes, Kerry (Ryan Walsh) Hincks, Kevin (Gina Nucci) Hincks, Amber (Matt) Stevens and Erik Bailey. Fond great-grandfather of numerous. Dear brother-in-law of Erna (the late Hans) Weigt. Werner served in the US Navy, during World War II.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 from 1:00 3:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield, IL. Private family inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date.
