Isabella Thomson Holden

Isabella Thomson Holden, age 86, of Naperville, IL, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Edward Hospital of Naperville, IL. She was born December 6, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from the College of Wooster where she met her husband, the late Rev. Dr. John C. Holden, who she assisted for over thirty years with his ministry and in the founding of the Institute of Religion and Medicine, located at Westminster House in Chicago and later in Naperville. After his death in 1994, she continued her volunteer work organizing adult education programs, participating on church committees and serving church members at Knox Presbyterian Church in Naperville IL and others by her work as a coordinator of SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) and in many other ways. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, knitting and reading newspapers, books and the Bible on her kindle. She was the beloved mother of John C. Holden Jr. and mother-in-law of Terese Holden of Edina, MN and daughter, Jennifer Basquin and son-in-law, Paul Basquin of Charlotte, NC. She was a loving grandma to Cecily Basquin, Graham Basquin, Jack Holden and Lily Holden. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Thomson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Isabella’s name to: Knox Presbyterian Church in Naperville.

Visitation: Thursday, February 7th 10:00-11:00 AM at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, IL 60540.

Funeral Service to follow 11:00 AM at Church.

Interment will follow at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
