“Our family would like to thank you for all your help during our time of loss. We were very impressed with how everything was handled — from your quick response the night of J’s passing — quick and with great respect in removing him from our home, to the processing of all the paperwork and details and to how wonderful he looked at the final private viewing for our family. It meant a lot that we could all be together to see him one final time. Thank you again for everything.”

Maude A. Gates, age 94 of Naperville, IL formerly of Rockford, IL passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. She was born August 23, 1918 in Platteville, WI, the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Golden.

Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Gates, loving mother of David (Marci) Hanson, Kristi (Steven) Baker, Carol (Barry) Dunne and Gary (Elinor) Gates, cherished grandmother of Matthew Baker, Christopher Baker, Elizabeth Hanson, Lydia (Cody) Wright, Anna (Steven) Tramell, Amanda (Kenny) Dolinger, Alyssa Dunne, Grant Gates and Erin Dunne, fond great-grandmother of Evan Wright, Archer Wright, Amelia Tramell, Navie Tramell and Logan Wright. Dear sister of the late Ruth Lander and loving aunt of the late Carol Porter and Michael (Susan) Lander. She was especially known for sending thousands of cards over her lifetime – always remembering birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. She was an avid reader and generously donated her “only read once” copies of books to others she knew would enjoy them. She was a treasure to all who knew and loved her.
