“I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your kindness, caring, and professionalism dealing with the death of my grandmother, C. S. From the moment you arrived to pick up Gram all the way through to us leaving the cemetery, I was so touched by everyone there. You did a beautiful job and I know Gram would have been pleased. Thank you again and bless you for all you do.”

As a young woman, she moved out west alone, to wait for her first husband who was stationed overseas. She raised her daughter, Marcia, and worked as the Chief of Property and Supply for the Veteran's Administration for the US Army. She then retired to Florida with her second husband, John Matechen, who passed away in 1995. As a retiree, she traveled the world and loved to entertain family and friends at her house in Orlando. In 2006, Leitha moved to Naperville, IL to live with her granddaughter, Heather and her family. Leitha is survived by her loving daughter, Marcia Harms of Bainbridge Island, WA, her grandchildren Heather and Tom Miller of Naperville, IL and Jeff Harms of Chicago, IL, her great-grandchildren, Julia, Caleigh and Alisha Miller and countless friends who knew her smiling face. She loved roses, hearts, chocolate, and Elvis. Leitha lived a faithful Christian life devoted to “Love, Peace and Joy.” She glowed with an independent and loving spirit that affected everyone she met. She was active in Job’s Daughters for many years and in the church for her entire lifetime. She was a prayer warrior for all her friends and family. She was a member of Christian Woman’s Club and Stephen Ministry in Florida. She never failed to mail cards on holidays and birthdays, and held friends and family together with close correspondence. Her constancy over the years has made us all feel deeply loved.
