“Thank you so much for all your help with the funeral planning and the actual funeral. Everything was beautiful and could not have been more special or gone any smoother. It was comforting for our family to know that everything was going to be taken care of and that we would do my father-in-law justice with a very beautiful funeral. Thank you so much for that peace-of-mind. We could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. You all are truly wonderful at what you do. I would never go anywhere else! (Although I’m hoping not to have to use your services for a very long time!) Thank you so much for everything.”

Kemp E. Pond

February 06, 1982 - May 22, 2012

Kemp E. Pond, 30, of Plainfield, died tragically on May 22, 2012, in a motorcycle accident. He was the loving son of Dana and Melcy Pond, cherished older brother to Carson Pond (Ashley Smith) and Lydia Pond, adoring grandson to Trula Pond Bowman, and dear nephew, cousin, godfather and friend to many, especially his best friend, Daniel Mikos and special friend, Alicia Falcone. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otto and Marybeth Curth, Edward Pond, and Donald Bowman.
Kemp was born February 6, 1982 and lived in Romeoville until 1992, when his family moved to Plainfield. He was active in Boy Scouts, graduated from Plainfield High School in 2000 and attended Joliet Junior College. Kemp was an active member of the Ford Festiva Club, and a lifelong member of the Wilmington Recreation Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, playing disc golf, competitive pistol shooting, and camping. Kemp was a gifted man who loved anything mechanical. He could often be found fixing up his motorcycles, computers, cars, trucks or helping others. A giant, gentle spirit, Kemp was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield on Tuesday, May 29 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
