Genevieve M. “Gege” Dooley (nee McGrath), age 90, a resident of Spring Meadows Retirement Center and St. Patrick’s Residence, both in Naperville, IL for the last six years, formerly of West Lafayette, IN, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. She was born January 8, 1922 in Fort Wayne, IN. Beloved wife of the late Robert Dooley, loving mother of Robert (Kay) Dooley of Naperville, adored grandmother of Sheila (Jeffery) Evans of Chicago and Megan (Thomas) Zeman of Wheaton, IL, cherished great-grandmother of Aidan and Connor Evans; Thomas, Katie, Julia and Jackson Zeman, devoted daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary A. (nee Weacher) McGrath, dear sister of the late Thomas, Mary, Robert, Elizabeth and Frances, fond aunt of many. Gege grew up in Decatur, IL and was a graduate of Decatur High School. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, IN and proudly worked as a registered nurse until the age of 65. Gege, always “the life of the party”, brought joy and happiness to everyone she met. Gege and her signature giggle will be missed by all. Visitation Tuesday, July 24, 9:00-10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence. Private family interment: St. Mary Cemetery, Lafayette, IN.
