Katherine Marie “Kathy” Spinka (nee Wick), age 61, a resident of Naperville, IL, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012. She was born August 15, 1950 in Sellersville, PA. Cherished wife of Harold “Hal” Spinka, whom she married February 24, 1973. Beloved mother of Christine (Lawrence Ries) Spinka of Columbia, MO and Thomas (Amanda) Spinka of Livermore, CA. Loving grandmother of Joseph & Claire Spinka and Allison Ries. Fond sister of Robert (Dorothy) Wick of Lombard, IL. Dear aunt of Timothy, Steven, Robert, and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and William Wick. Katherine was a 1968 graduate of North Park High School and a 1971 graduate of North Park University, both in Chicago. She received her doctoral degree in Anatomy from UCLA in 1976. Visitation Sunday, July 15, 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. Additional visitation Monday, July 16, 9:00-10:00 A.M. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, IL. Funeral services will follow Monday, 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment: Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Knox Presbyterian Church or Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry.  |
