“Our family would like to thank you for all your help during our time of loss. We were very impressed with how everything was handled — from your quick response the night of J’s passing — quick and with great respect in removing him from our home, to the processing of all the paperwork and details and to how wonderful he looked at the final private viewing for our family. It meant a lot that we could all be together to see him one final time. Thank you again for everything.”

Recovery From Grief & Loss: Remembering Loved Ones
The family and staff of Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones Funeral Homes are committed to an ongoing relationship with families we served, spanning the generations.
Our aftercare programs help families continue to remember and cherish their loved ones for years to come.
Memorial Luminary Program
During the holiday season, every family we have served at Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones Funeral Homes over the past year is invited to participate in our beautiful Memorial Luminary Program. This tradition of lighting a candle spans all cultures and religions and serves to bring us all together in love and respect as we prepare for the New Year.
Prior to the lighting of your loved one’s candle, your family is encouraged to personalize and decorate the luminary bag with photographs, poems, or letters. The luminaries are then lit and placed around the funeral home in memory and celebration of these departed loved ones.
The family of Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones welcomes the public to attend this wonderful program. Friends and family, neighbors, and community members are invited to participate. If you have lost a loved one anywhere or at any time during the year, join us in our annual memorial service, closing out the year in tribute to those who have touched our lives.
Visit our upcoming events page for scheduled dates and times of this special ceremony.
Spring Seed Memorial Program
As the spring season promises a new beginning in nature, it also provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the many changes that occur throughout our lives.
Each spring we offer families a means to remember those who have touched their lives by providing forget-me-not wildflower seeds to plant as they wish, along with a special poem. This is a lovely opportunity to include children in a discussion about death in nature and a demonstration of the cycle of life.
Visit our upcoming events page to learn more about this program of hope and renewal.
Batesville Living Memorial Tree Planting Program
When families select a Batesville casket or cremation product, Batesville will plant a tree in a national forest to keep the memory of their loved one alive and to protect the environment for future generations. Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones are pleased to participate in this “growing” legacy.
