After Care
quoteThank you for your ongoing attentiveness this past year, and most recently the Forget-me-not seeds, which I plan to plant at the grave of my husband. This grieving process, too is ongoing... more so this winter than earlier on.quote
-D. S.

quoteOn Saturday, Overman-Jones had a tree of remembrance memorial service for all the families of the people they took care of. The service was lovely, and needless to say, I cried my eyes out because it was such a beautiful service. We in Plainfield should feel honored to have such a caring funeral home in our town. Special thanks to Ray, David Jeffrey, Ronald, and Stephanie for everything.image

The family and staff of Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones Funeral Homes are committed to building relationships with the families we've served. We offer several "aftercare" programs to help families cherish and remember their loved ones for years to come. These programs include a semi-annual newsletter and the following:

The Batesville Living Memorial Tree Planting Program
When families select a Batesville casket or cremation product, Batesville will plant a tree in a national forest to keep the memory of their loved one alive and to protect the environment for future generations. Friedrich-Jones and Overman-Jones are pleased to participate in this "growing" legacy.

Friedrich-Jones Memorial Luminary Program
Each November families served over the past year are invited to participate in the lighting of their loved one's candle at an annual memorial luminary program. Families are encouraged to personalize and decorate their loved one's luminary bag with photographs, poems or letters. The luminaries are placed around the funeral home in memory and celebration of these loved ones.

Overman-Jones Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service
This memorial service is held to honor those families in Plainfield and the surrounding communities whom we have served. During the service each family is presented with an ornament in memory of their loved one, and are invited to share refreshments and fellowship.

Forget-Me-Nots
As the spring season promises a new beginning in nature, it also provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the many changes that occur throughout our lives. Each spring we are pleased to offer families a means to remember those who have touched their lives by providing them with Forget-me-not wildflower seeds.
"There's a very special garden where the flowers of memory grow,

Nurtured by the kindness and concern that good friends show.

The roots are cherished memories of good times in the past,

the petals tender promises that souls endure and last.

It's a place of peace and beauty where bright new hopes can start,

it's memory's lovely garden that soothes the hurting heart."
